  2. a) 2 x 1000 + 9 x 10 + 5 x 1

  3. a) Place value is 5000 and face value is 5
    b) Place value is 50 and face value is 5
  4. The cost of 1 dozen (12) eggs = 60 rupees
    The cost of 1 egg = 60/12 = 5 rupees
  5. a) 25 x 32 = 800
    34 x 21 = 714
    So 25 x 32 > 34 x 21
    b) 43 x 2 = 86
    34 x 5 = 170
    So 43 x 2 < 34 x 5

  7. Sum of 2 numbers = 4000
    One number = 1090

    Total cost = 25.50 + 4.50 = 30 rupees
  9. Amount of water drinks in every day = 8 glasses
    Amount of water drinks in one week = 8 x 7 = 56 glasses
  10. Length = 100 cm
    Breadth = 75 cm
    Perimeter = 2 (l + b) = 2(100 + 75) = 2 x 175 = 350 cm
    Area = length x breadth = 100 x 75 = 7500
